FORT KNOX, KY. — Reserve soldiers from several units are competing at Fort Knox in the 80th Training Command annual Best Warrior Competition.
The event began Monday and runs through Friday. It is held to identify the best competitors in enlisted and noncommissioned officer categories.
Events include an urban assault course, physical fitness, weapons handling, rifle and pistol marksmanship, drill and ceremony, land navigation and first aid. There’s also a written exam and questions from a panel of sergeants major.
Approximately 18 are competing from the 80th Training Command’s subordinate divisions, which are the 100th Training Division at Fort Knox, the 102nd Training Division at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and the 94th Training Division at Fort Lee, Va.
Winners advance to the U.S. Army Reserve Command Best Warrior Competition.
